Steven Lee Baker

Steven Lee Baker, 71, of Johns Island, South Carolina, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018 at his home.

He was born March 31, 1947 in Vincennes, the son of Noble C. and Betty Lou Baker.  He graduated from Wheatland High School with the Class of 1965, served in the U.S. Navy and was a Vietnam War veteran.

He is survived by his son, Kevin Baker; his grandson Silas Baker; his mother, Betty Lou Baker; his sister; Sheryl Litten; and his brother, Maurice Baker.

He was preceded in death by his son, Donovan Baker; his father, Noble C. Baker; and his brother, Noble C. Baker III.

There will be no local services held.

Kenneth Raymond Blackwell

Kenneth Raymond Blackwell, 83, of Bridgeport, Illinois, died on Monday, Sept. 10, 2018.

He retired from CSX Railroad and was a U.S Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War,

Survivors include two daughters, Susan Kelsey and Julie Breault; two sones, Mike Blackwell and Steve Blackwell; and a sister, Betty Brian.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. CDT on Thursday at the Cunningham Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Burial will be in the Bridgeport City Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. CDT today at the funeral home.

Ralph Everett Davidson Sr.

Ralph Everett Davidson Sr., 84, of Bicknell, died on Monday Sept. 10, 2018.

He worked at RCA Manufacturing Company in Bloomington and was a U.S Air Force veteran.

Survivors include his son, Donald E. Davidson, and a daughter Peggy Redmond.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. on Saturday at Bicknell Memorial Cemetery. Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Bicknell Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.

James Barton Dunlap

James Barton Dunlap, 75, of Newburgh, left this life for Heaven on Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2018. 

James was born on Oct. 16, 1942 in Vincennes, the son of the late Nadine Lavon Shipley and Jerry Barton Dunlap. James graduated from Decker Chapel High School in 1960, Oakland City University in 1964, and Indiana University with a master’s degree in 1968. He was inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame in 2013, the Tri-State Sports Hall of Fame in 2015, and was named the Oakland City Alumnus of the Year in 2016. His life was focused on family, education and sports. He took over 600 students to Europe to study. With his wife, Rita, he became passionate about genealogy and the Honor Flight of Southern Indiana.

James is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Rita (Dutton) Dunlap of Newburgh; his daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Gonzalez and her husband, Hector, of Richmond, Texas; his son, James Allen Dunlap of Chicago; granddaughters Courtney Lynn Dunlap of Chicago and Caroline Elise Gonzalez of Richmond; two sisters; and his nieces and nephews. 

James was preceded in death by his parents and his youngest two siblings.

Memorial services will be 5 p.m. on Friday at First United Methodist Church, 411 Fourth St., and 1 p.m. CDT on Saturday at the Living Word Christian Church in Newburgh. Visitations will be 3 p.m. until the hour of services on Friday at First United Methodist Church and 10 a.m. CDT until the hour of services on Saturday at the Living Word Christian Church. Marcelyn A. Lee

Marcelyn A. Lee, 89, of Petersburg, passed away at 10:27 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 10, 2018 at Golden Living Center.

Marcelyn was born on Feb. 21, 1929 in Vincennes, the daughter of Louis and Helen (Bales) Vincent. She married Leonard Benson on Oct. 31, 1947 and he preceded her in death on Dec. 26, 1957. She then married Donald G. Lee on July 13, 1961 and he preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 2017.

Marcelyn loved her children and grandchildren very much, was a very good cook and loved her flowers.

Survivors include her daughters, Cherie Kotter of Vincennes and Janet Wilber and her husband, Jim, of Vincennes; her sons, Leonard Benson of Lawrenceville, Illinois, and Don Lee and his wife, Sherry, of Vincennes; grandchildren Jeff Kotter and his wife, Jennifer, Bart Kotter and his, wife Kim, Melissa Craven, James Wilber, Alan Wilbur and his wife, Jodi, Doug Benson and his wife, Jennifer, Levi, Joey, Josh and Grant Lee; and great-grandchildren Colton, Alex, Caden, Ava and Emma Kotter, Dalton and Ethan Craven, and Aven Wilber. 

In addition to her husband, Marcelyn was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers Delbert and Donald Vincent; and her sister, Dorothy Jane Vincent.

Graveside services for Marcelyn will be 12:30 p.m. on Friday at Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with Marcelyn’s family from noon until the hour of services at the cemetery. Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway St., is honored to assist Marcelyn’s family with arrangements.

Charlene Carol Todd

Charlene Carol (Crate) Todd, 83, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, died on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Smith, and her brother, Charles Robert Crate.
