Rose Marie Arnold

Rose Marie Arnold, 81, of Vincennes, passed away at 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018, with her family at her bedside at the Lodge of the Wabash Nursing Home.

Rose Marie was born May 27, 1937 in Clarksburg, West Virginia, the daughter of Carl and Beulah I. (Swilger) Patrick. She was a former health care worker at various nursing homes, retiring after many loyal years from Willow Manor, and a volunteer for several civic organizations. She enjoyed gardening and dining out with family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Vickey Mapes and her husband, Clifford, of Enterprise, Alabama, Cindy Swope and her husband, James, of Vincennes, Linda Murphy and her husband, Mark, of Vincennes, Debbie Siler and her husband, Bryan, of Flat Rock, Illinois, Rickey A. Arnold of Vincennes, and Michael E. Arnold and his wife, Carol, of Vincennes; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her brother, Jackie C. Patrick of Marion, Ohio; her sister, Norma L. Hutson of Crestline, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and eight sisters.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home, 521 Vigo St. She will be entombed in the Tower II mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the hour of services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the donor’s charity of choice. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist the Arnold family with their arrangements.

Mary Jo Asher

Mary Jo Asher, 75, of Sandborn, died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018.

She worked in housekeeping at The Park Inn Motel in Linton and was a member of the Sandborn Christian Church.

Survivors include her children, Brian Asher and Tina Snow.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday at Meng Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton with Bryan Sanders officiating. Burial will be in Sandborn Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. on Thursday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of services on Friday at the funeral home.

Jensen O. Morrison

Jensen O. Morrison, 2, of Vincennes passed away on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018 at his residence.

He was born March 25, 2016 in Vincennes to Jarek and Ashlee (Riker) Morrison. Jensen loved playing with his dinosaurs and to swim. Jensen loved to play chase and was always happy and loved his two “blankees.”

Surviving are his parents, Jarek and Ashlee Morrison of Vincennes; his sister, Tristyn Riker of Vincennes; his grandparents, Cheryl and Kent Smith, Tom Riker, Bob Bono, and Michael Morrison; his great-grandparents, Linda and Ed Gray, Jane Holland, Jimmie and Thelma Morrison; his great-great-grandmother, Ruby Morrison; and his great-great-aunt and uncle, Debbie and Jack Qualkenbush; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lori Bono; his great-grandfathers, Joe Deaton and Rick Holland; and his first cousin, Silas Morrison.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m on Thursday at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway St. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be noon until the hour of services on Thursday at the funeral home. service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jensen Morrison Memorial Fund.

Ruth Ann Mortland

Ruth Ann (Harris) Mortland, 76, of Sandborn, went to Heaven surrounded by her family on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018, in Vincennes.

She was born in Linton on Oct. 4, 1941, the daughter of James C. and Edith M. (Williams) Harris. On Dec. 31, 1971, Ruth Ann married Richard Mortland. Ruth Ann was a homemaker and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Sandborn First Christian Church. She will be greatly missed and remembered with love by her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Mortland; her sons, Randy Koenig and his wife, Cheri, of Sandborn, Mark Nortland and his spouse, John, of Dallas, Mike Mortland of Everett, Washington, and Jeffery Mortland of Linton; her daughters, Rita Dale and her husband, Jim, of Sandborn, and Jolene Bryant and her husband, Steve, of Sandborn; grandchildren Leslie Dale, Justin Dale and his wife, Stephanie,

Jonathan Koenig, Madison Koenig, Mathew Bryant, Andrew Bryant, and Lauren Mortland; a great-granddaughter, Emily; and two brothers, Ruben C. Harris and his wife, Clara Ann, and Ralph D. Harris and his wife, Elizabeth.

Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Reba Nell Harris.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Thursday at Meng Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton with Bryan Sanders officiating. Ruth Ann will be laid to rest in the Sandborn Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of services on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sandborn First Christian Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. All arrangements were entrusted to Meng Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Poindexter Chapel, in Linton.

Ralph Earl Spangler

Ralph Earl Spangler, 83, of Lawrenceville, Illinois died on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2018.

He was born on July 12, 1935 to Velma Ruth (Truelove) and Herman “Ted” Spangler in Lawrenceville, Illinois.

Ralph married Karen Jean (Moran) Spangler on February 14, 1990 in Mount Carmel, Illinois and she survives.

He was retired from Hamilton Glass and attended the Church of Christ in Lawrenceville.

Survivors include his wife, Karen Jean (Moran) Spangler; his brothers, Robert Spangler and Donald Spangler; three children, David Spangler, Deborah Pruitt, and Dolores Byrd; and a stepson, Paul Spangler.

There will be no services. A private burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Glasser Funeral Home is trusted with the arrangements.
