David O. Frederick
David O. Frederick, 87, of Vincennes, passed away at 8:35 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017 at Willow Manor.
He was born April 12, 1930 in Knox County to Charles A. and Anna L. (Myers) Frederick. David was a former Monroe City resident and retired as manager of Ohio Valley Sound. He was then owner of Dave’s Electronics for approximately 20 years. His memberships included the South Knox Service Club, TPA, and her was active at the Blue Jeans Center. He served his country in the U.S. Army in the Korean War, and was a graduate of the Monroe City High School.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Delores (Brothers) Frederick, whom he married on May 19, 1954; his children, Stephanie Zachary of Lawrenceville, Illinois, and Julie Atkinson of Bruceville; five grandchildren, Jessica Tallman, Amy Bryan, Lindsay Brown, Will Atkinson, Jeannie Atkinson; his great-grandchildren, Alex Atkinson, Reese Atkinson, Haley Shepherd, Alyssa Shepherd, Bridget Embry, Scarlett Embry, Eric Bryan, and Harper Grace Tallman, who is due in January.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Paulee Frederick.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. on Monday at Mount Zion Cemetery with Rev. Mark Nielson officiating. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.

Jerry Kirk Henry
Jerry Kirk Henry 83, of Vincennes and formerly of Oblong, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Jerry was born on Sept. 29, 1934 in Muskegon, Michigan and was the son of Glenn Henry and Marjorie (Kirk) Henry. On Feb. 9, 1974 he married Joyce Bond who survives. They enjoyed 43 years of marriage. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1954-1958 at the U.S. Naval Base in Key West, Florida. Jerry was a member of the Community United Methodist Church.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Joyce Henry of Vincennes; a son, Rev. Gary J. Henry and his wife, Brenda, of Ashland, Kentucky; a daughter, Janet K. Whikehart and her husband, Dave, of Findlay, Ohio; a step-daughter, Pamela L Freeland and her fiancé, Dave Baldwin, of Mattoon, Illinois; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Susan Jane Smith.
A Celebration of Jerry’s Life will be 3 p.m. CST on Sunday at the Pulliam Funeral Home in Oblong. Burial will be in the Oblong Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by Oblong American Legion Post 219. Visitation will be 1 p.m. CST until he hour of services on Sunday at the funeral home. Viola Imogene Hughes
Viola Imogene “Imy” Hughes, 91, of Bridgeport, Illinois, died on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017.
She was a homemaker and member of the Hi-Way Church of God.
Survivors include two sons, Rodger Hughes and Gregory Gene Hughes; and a daughter, Connieta Goff.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. CST on Monday at the Hi-Way Church of God. Burial will be in Petty Cemetery near Sumner, Illinois. Visitation will be 11 a.m. CST until the hour of services on Monday at the church.
