David L. Hamlin

David L. Hamlin, 66, Sandborn, died Tuesday, June 18 2013.

He retired from the maintenance department at Good Samaritan Hospital.

He is survived by his brother, LeRoy Hamlin.

Private family services were June 19 in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Emma J. Manning

Emma J. (Curry) Manning, 81, Vincennes, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at the New Willow Manor Nursing Center with her family at her bedside.

She was born April 21, 1932, in Knox County, the daughter of Chester and Esther (Bloebaum) Curry. She married Joseph Manning and they made their life together until his death in 1986. They were active in the American Legion and VFW and she was a life member of the auxiliaries. She held membership in the St. John Lutheran Church and retired from Harold’s Supermarket where she worked in the bakery department.

She is survived by her family, Pam Phalagi and her husband, Jeff, of Emmett, Idaho, Joseph Manning and his wife, Diana, of Vincennes, and Raymond Manning and his wife, Jeannie, of Vincennes; her grandchildren, Robbie Horton, Mark Horton, Mandy Siewers, Richard Manning, Micky Clark, Josh Walker, Mindy Leech and Jeremy Hartzburg; her brothers and sisters, Ed Curry of Miami and Wayne Curry of Phoenix, Carol Theriac of Westphalia, Betty Doll and her husband, Ed, of Monroe City, and Doris Parish of Evansville.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a sister, Mary Archer; and a brother, Chester Curry Jr.

Gravesite services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Ron Maxwell officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the American Legion Auxiliary.

Services were entrusted to Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home.
