It is time to get your family or organization together to grow and enjoy healthy food from the Vincennes Community Garden.

The Vincennes Community Garden at the YMCA of Vincennes is now open and ready to plant for its sixth season. You don’t have to be a master gardener or even have a green thumb to dig into the Vincennes Community Garden. The garden, adjacent to the Y on College Avenue, offers 10-foot by 15-foot garden plots with water available on site.

The Community Garden is a collaboration of the Knox County Chamber of Commerce, the YMCA of Vincennes and the Knox County Soil and Water Conservation District. Gardeners of all ages and experience are invited to participate in growing their own healthy, organic food.

Applications for garden plots are currently available at the Y or online at http://www.vincennesymca.org. Garden plots are $25 for the season and will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. The Y provides plowed land and Y membership is not required.

Those interested in being involved in Vincennes Community Garden Association should contact Jennifer Holscher at 812-895-9622, ext 16.
