The Decker Alumni Banquet has been canceled for this year. Plans are being made for the next gathering in April 2022 at the Knights of Columbus.

Class of 2021 graduates could be eligible for one of the two scholarships awarded each year.

The Jim McCormick Scholarship requires that the recipient be a South Knox graduate that is a direct descendant (parent, grandparent, great-grandparent) of a Decker High School graduate. The application for this scholarship is available in the guidance office at South Knox Middle High School.

The second scholarship is the Decker High School Alumni Scholarship. The application for this scholarship can be picked up at North Knox Jr. Sr. High School, Lincoln High School and Rivet Middle High School. If the graduate lives outside the county, they can request an application to be sent or e-mailed to them by calling Sue Oexmann at 812-769-4872. This scholarship will be awarded to a 2021 graduate from any high school, other than South Knox. The graduate must be a direct descendent (parent, grandparent, great-grandparent) of a Decker High School graduate. Questions about the scholarship can be directed to Oexmann.

Since there will be no banquet this year there will be no silent auction or passing the hat for donations to fund scholarships. Donations can be made in memory of a family member, a friend or classmate. Checks can be mailed to: Sue Oexmann, 9068 S. Decker Road, Decker, IN, 47524.

The History of Decker High School and Johnson Township Feeder Schools books are still available for sale. The cost is $50. Contact Barbara Holscher at 812-881-7688.
