The Francis Vigo Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution met on June 18 in the dining hall, which was decorated with a summer beach party theme.

The meeting was called to order by Regent Haley Lancaster. The opening ritual followed. Lindsay Owens, recording secretary, read the minutes from the May meeting. The treasurer’s report was given by Rita Hagerty and the National Defense minute was given by Lori Marchino, national defense chair.

All officers were present who served from September 2018 to June 2019 and presented end of year reports. Reports were also given for committees which receive national recognition and special chapter committees.

The following members traveled to Washington, D.C., for NSDAR Continental Congress: Deb Byrnes, Rita Green, Cindy Frederick, Rita Haggerty, Lindy Heath and Lancaster; along with HODARs Chuck Heath and Bob Green.

Cathy Dever, conservation chair, invited members to help plant lemon queen sunflowers on the chapter house grounds following the meeting.

The next regular meeting will be Sept. 24.

Marchino, chaplain, gave the benediction and the meeting was adjourned.

Refreshment committee was chaired by Lancaster with Elena Keene, Donna Klein and Ashley Tolliver.
