One of the names that stands out in Knox County’s agricultural history is that of Henry S. Benson.

Benson was the county’s third agricultural agent, receiving that appointment in 1923 and remaining in the position for just over 22 years. During that time, Benson became one of the most consequential men to ever hold the job.
