Vincennes University will welcome the mother of Trayvon Martin to campus to kick off Black History Month.

On February 4th, Sybrina Fulton will speak at the Red Skelton Performing Arts Center, focusing on violence towards children and the need to build better, safer communities for all. Since losing her son in 2012, Fulton has dedicated her life to transforming family tragedy into social change.

The message delivered at the event is expected to resonate with a number of groups, as it covers improving the lives of children, how to deal with adversity and education, especially in the area of civil rights.

The event will kick off at 6:00 p.m. and is free to attend. To obtain your ticket to reserve your place at the event, you can visit https://www.eventbrite.com/e/88707359099
