Oaktown woman killed in accident

OAKTOWN — Indiana State Police say an Oaktown woman is dead following an accident on U.S. 41 on Thursday afternoon.

Karen Leah Burr, 62, was traveling south on U.S. 41 near Gauger Road north of Oaktown when she struck the rear of a semi tractor/trailer. The semi was having mechanical issues, police say, and was traveling just 10 mph.

Burr, who was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Impala, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the semi, Albert Javan Riddle Jr., 58, of Chicago, was not injured.
