Rosemary Mouzin, 82, of Vincennes, passed away Monday, April 19, 2021, at Good Samaritan Hospital with her family at her side.
Rosemary was born April 28, 1938, in French Lick the daughter of Paul Joseph and Mamie Alice (Thurston) Hughes.
She was a graduate of Alfordsville High School and studied business management at Vincennes University. She was a claims associate for Work One for many years and held membership at Old Cathedral/St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She held memberships in the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, Elks Auxiliary and the Harmony Society. She married Lawrence “Larry” Mouzin and they made their life together for over 18 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. Rosemary loved her flowers that she directed Larry to plant and virtually anything Coca-Cola.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Mouzin of Vincennes; children and their spouses, Deb Cunningham and Ken of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, Pam Gennett of Fishers, Lynn Ellis and Greg of Southlake, Texas, Jackie Foley and Donnie of Vincennes, and Melissa Bennett and Roy Hancock of Terre Haute; grandchildren and their spouses, Brent Ellis, Mitch Ellis and Lauren, Matt Ellis, Bryan and Lisa Gennett, Lauren and Vik Madan, Adam and Anna Elkins, Kyle Foley, Delaney Foley, Tamara Litterick, Kyleigh Cunningham, and Xavier Bennett; her great-grandchildren, Tanner Litterick, Tucker Litterick, Stella Ellis, Skipper Ellis, Olsen Gennett, and was excited expecting her sixth great-grandchild, baby Madan. She is also survived by her brothers and their spouses, Harold Hughes and Mary of Greenwood, Bill Hughes of Washington, Gerald Hughes and Nancy of Avon Park, Florida; and a sister, Wilma Delaney of Washington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Edward Hughes, Mike Hughes and Richard Hughes.
A mass of christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at the Old Cathedral with the Rev. Fr. Tony Ernest and Deacon Earl Ruppel officiating. She will be laid to rest in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to the Corning Irish Center in Corning.
