Ozzy Franklin Walker Coots passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2019, at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville.

Ozzy was born July 3, 201, in Vincennes.

He is survived by his parents, Tim and Amy (Hatton) Coots of Vincennes; his grandparents, Gary and JoElla Coots and Walker and Denise Hatton, all of Vincennes; his great-grandparents, John and Norma Jean McClain of Versailles Hills, Kentucky, and Mary Wohler of Scottsburg; his brother, Cameron Lee Smith; and his uncles, Andy and Cheryl Coots, and Mack and Carrie Hatton.

Private family services were held.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House.

Phillip Rath

Phillip Rath, 63, of Vincennes, passed away at his home on Friday, July 12, 2019.

Born on April 1, 1956, in Trinidad, Colorado, he was the son of Charles and Joyce (Sayre) Rath. Phil had served as vice president of Finance and Government Relations at Vincennes University; in August he would have been at VU for 36 years.

Surviving are his wife, Marianne (Hulen) Rath; his children, Mitch Rath and his wife, Amanda, Todd Rath and his wife, Laura, all of Vincennes, and Jennifer Gilbert and her husband, Cody of Evansville; his sister, Kim Modrowski and her husband, Tom of St. John; and his grandchildren, Noah, Baylor, Keaton, Campbell, Bristol, and Brecken Rath, and Sadie and Greyson Gilbert.

His parents preceded him.

Friends may visit with Phil’s family from 2-7 p.m. on Tuesday at Goodwin Funeral Home. 524 Broadway St. A private memorial service will be held later. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Vincennes University Phillip Rath Scholarship.
