James E. Benedict
James E. “Bud” Benedict, 89, of Bicknell, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Bud was born in Bicknell on Oct. 17, 1929, the son of the late William Benedict and Ellen Ethel (Barnes) Benedict. He was a graduate in the class of 1948 Bicknell High School, and shortly after, on May 6, 1951, married his loving wife, Eldina Benedict, and she survives. Bud served his country in the U.S. Army, and was a life-time member of the VFW. He was also a life-time member of the Bicknell French Club, Edwardsport Masonic Lodge, and was very active in the Bicknell Country Club. Bud enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He was also a member of Bethel Church and was employed by PSI as a lineman for 38 years.
In addition to his wife, Eldina, Bud is survived by his daughter, Carole Albrecht and her husband, Bill of Bicknell; one son, Buddy Benedict and his wife, Cheryl of Evansville; two sisters, Lynn Mundy and her husband, Gary, and Lora Carlisle and her husband, Gib; one brother, David Snellenberger and his wife, Linda; and three grandchildren, Jeff Albrecht and his wife, Tara, Amy Hurt ands her husband, Justin, Jonathon Benedict and his wife, Cassie; and three great-grandchildren, Wade and Jovi Albracht, and Cora Hurt.
He was also preceded in death by his step-father, Eldon Snellenberger; an infant daughter, Nancy Benedict; two sisters, Lou Edith Hedrick, and Eunice Hill; and one brother, Billy Jo Benedict.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Sunday at Bethel Church in Edwardsport. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the church with with Pastor Mike Decoursey officiating. Burial will be in Bicknell Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt, Bicknell Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Church in Bud’s memory.
Treva J. Stice
Treva J. Stice, 61, of Vincennes, died on Wednesday, March 20, 2019.
She worked as kitchen help for the United Methodist Village and was a member of Thursday Church.
Survivors include her sister, Kathy Stice.
Funeral services will be noon CDT on March 29 at Cunningham-Young Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Burial will be in Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. CDT until the hour of services on March 29 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Thursday Church.
