Mary E. Beard

Mary E. “Ellie” (Kotter) Beard, 65, of Evansville, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 1, 2019 at Linda E. White Hospice House.

Ellie was born in Vincennes on Feb. 24, 1954 to the late Cyril and Catherine (Bonhomme) Kotter. She was a graduate of Rivet High School. Ellie was very welcoming, a great cook, and enjoyed spending time with her family. Ellie was considered a “Mom” to everyone and will be deeply missed.

Ellie is survived by her husband of 45 years, Darrell Beard of Evansville; her daughter, Sarah Pleuss and her husband, Jared, of Newburgh; her son, Chris Beard of Newburgh; her sisters, Rita Reinhart and her husband, Chuck of Vincennes, Jeanne Goettl and her husband, Kent, of Kettering, Ohio, Cathy Wilson and her husband, Danny, of Vincennes, and Susan Cook ands her husband, Dave of Bruceville; her brother, Bill Kotter and his wife, Judy, of Vincennes; grandchildren, Christian, Charlie, and Cohen Pleuss; and many nieces and nephews.

Ellie was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Cheri Kotter.

A celebration of Ellie's life will be held at 4 p.m. CDT on Saturday at Browning Funeral Home in Evansville. Friends may visit from 1 p.m. CDT until the hour of services on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, Suite 114, 6415 Castleway W. Connie M. Rath, 77, of Vincennes, passed away on Monday, Sept. 2, 2019, at Good Samaritan Hospital.

She is survived by her daughter, Amy Graham; her son, Robert Allotta; her step-children, Linda Brauer and James Rath; her sister, Wanda Parks; and her brother, Terry McDongh.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. on Friday at Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may gather at the cemetery at 1:30 on Friday. Goodwin Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements.
