Kenneth Bowlin

Kenneth Bowlin, 67, of Vincennes, passed away on Wednesday, Aug.t 7,2019 at Linda White Hospice House in Evansville.

He was born on April 24, 1952, the son of A. Glenmore and G. Marie (Ely) Bowlin. Kenny worked as a dispatcher and in the safety department for Bestway. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion and the Vincennes Moose, and he was an avid outdoorsman. 

He is survived by his children, Norman Bowlin and his wife, Connie, of Valparaiso, and Sarah Bowlin and her companion, Steve Markus, of Noblesville; Kenny’s companion, Carol Bowlin of Vincennes; his brothers, Norman Leon Bowlin of Ekron, Kentucky, Robert Lynn Bowlin of LaGrange, Kentucky, and Ronald David Bowlin of Oaktown; his sisters, Lola Fay (Bowlin) Silva of Bonita Springs, Florida, Nadine Ruth (Bowlin) Kelso of Galatia Illinois, and Sandra Kay (Bowlin) Moon of Vincennes; three grandchildren, Mia Scott, Carsyn Bowlin and Clayton Bowlin; and the mother of his children, Susan Bowlin.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Glenmore and Marie Bowlin; sisters Virginia Mae (Bowlin) Garvey, Anna Belle (Bowlin) Neff, Barbara Sue (Bowlin) Morrison, Judy Lavon (Bowlin) Ellis and Wilma Jean (Bowlin) Dillingham; and brothers Charles Leroy Bowlin, William Dale Bowlin and Donald Paul Bowlin. 

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. on Monday at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Homes, Vincennes Chapel, 313 Church St. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Bethany Baptist Cemetery, N. Bethany Road, Deputy. Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Homes Vincennes Chapel have been entrusted with funeral arrangements.

Lois Kathryn Fowler

Lois Kathryn Fowler, 87, of Vincennes, passed away at 9:30 a.m. CDT on Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2019 at Wabash Christian Village in Carmi, Illinois.

She was born in Campbelltown on Feb. 19, 1932, the daughter of Gordon and Doris (Jerrell) Dawson. Lois married Robert Buell Fowler on Dec. 24, 1950 and he preceded her in death on April 4, 2009. She graduated from Winslow High School and was a homemaker. Lois was a member of Pleasant Ridge General Baptist Church.

Lois is survived by three sons, Steve Fowler and his wife, Phyllis, of McLeansboro, Illinois, David Fowler and his wife, Rhona, of Petersburg, and Larry Kent Fowler and his wife, Juline, of Washington, D.C.; two sisters, Rosalie Blackburn and Donna Wood and her husband, Tom, both of Vincennes; five grandchildren, Jordan Fowler and his wife, Maggi,  Zachary Fowler and Ani Fowler, and Phillip Buchta and his wife, Autumn, and John Buchta and his wife, Kristi; and one great-grandchild, Jake Buchta.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. on Sunday at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Campbelltown. Visitation will be held prior to the service at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi, which is in charge of arrangements. 

Bernard F. Rubrecht

Bernard F. Rubrecht, 87, of Ottawa, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2019 at his residence in Ottawa.

Born May 31, 1932 in Washington, he was the son of Louis and Veronica (Joice) Rubrecht.  He married Barbara Ramlow on Aug. 4, 1975. Bernie lived in Indiana, Florida, Iowa and Illinois through the years. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was of Catholic faith and previously belonged to St. John’s Catholic Church in Vincennes. He currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church in Streator, Illinois. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Vincennes.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Rubrecht of Ottawa; a son, William Rubrecht and his wife, Kandace, of Geneseo, Illinois; a grandson, Ethan Rubrecht of Geneseo; sisters Barbara Ramsey of Vincennes, Susie Berberich and her husband, Ron, of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Patti Peierway and her husband, Chet, of Grand Prairie, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; her brothers, Louis, Paul and Ralph Rubrecht; and a sister, Elizabeth Schultz.

Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at Memorial Park Cemetery with Father Simon Nadha officiating. Full military honors will be accorded at the cemetery. The Solon-Telford Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Brenda S. Teising  

Brenda S. Teising, 79, of Vincennes, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospital with her family at her bedside.

Brenda was born on March 8, 1940 in Vincennes, the daughter of Basil “Brick” Teising and Dorothy Cardinal Teising. She was a member of the Franklin Heights Christian Church, she loved working outside in the yard, bowling (she was a member of various leagues), Indiana University basketball, Lincoln High School sports — she just enjoyed life.

She is survived by her aunt and uncles, Maxine Wehry of Gulfport, Florida, Jack Cardinal of Vincennes, Ed Cardinal of Casper, Wyoming and Tony Cardinal Jr. of Lake Placid, Florida; and her Cardinal cousins, Teising cousins, Trent cousins and Wehry cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Basil “Brick” Teising and Dorothy Cardinal Teising

Funeral services will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home, 521 Vigo St., with Pastor Ralph Connor officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her parents in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the hour of services on on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the KCARC MS Marvelous Pageant through the KCARC. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist Brenda’s family during their time of loss.
