Brian Jay “Pinky” Gardner, 71, of Vincennes, passed away Feb. 19, 2021, at his home.
Born Oct. 3, 1949, in Vincennes, he was the son of Millard and Mildred (Richardville) Gardner.
Pinky had worked at Essex Wire. He was a 1969 graduate of Lincoln High School, and was active in class activities. His memberships included the American Legion and the Vincennes Boat Club. A Beach Boys fan, he liked to watch the Chicago Bears and Cubs, and IU Basketball.
Surviving is his wife, Cindy (Barekman) Gardner, whom he married Oct. 27, 1975; his children, Chris Gardner and his wife, Libby, of Vincennes, Heather Cummings and her husband, Kelly, of Emison, and Justin Gardner and his wife, Katrina, of Vincennes; his sisters, Doris Gardner of Vincennes and Carol Burkhalter of O’Fallon, Illinois; his grandchildren, Kayla Cummings, Megan Gardner, Jenna Gardner, Tyler Cummings, Miles Gardner and Jacob Gardner; a great-grandchild, Kayson Cummings; several nieces and nephews; and many friends that he considered family.
His parents; and his brothers, Gary and Larry Gardner, preceded him.
Friends may visit with Pinky’s family from 3-7 p.m. on Thursday at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway St.
