Martha I. Tapscott
Martha I. Tapscott, 96, of Bruceville, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2020, at her son’s home.
Born on Dec. 29, 1923, the twin sister of Mary Lucas, she was the last living daughter of Riley and Beulah Lucas. She was the last living member of the Decker Chapel High School of 1942. Martha will be missed by her family, and she loved them all in Jesus’s name.
Surviving are her son, Bruce Tapscott of Bruceville; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Her parents; her twin, Mary Beard; six brothers; and three sisters preceded her.
Martha will be cremated, and there will be no public services. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway St., assisted with the arrangements.

She was was a homemaker and a member of the Christian Church.
Survivors include children, Thomas A. York, Rebecca Kay Stout and Timothy Paul York; a sister, Ethel Floy Smith; and a brother, David Pierson.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. CST on Tuesday at the Christian Church in St. Francisville, Illinois. Burial will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. CST until the hour of services on Tuesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Church Youth Group.
