Rose Marie Roche, formerly of Vincennes, passed away Feb. 28, 2021, at Orlando Medical Center in Orlando, Florida, after a brief illness.

Rosie, as she preferred, was the daughter of Leslie and Helen Sommer Roche.

A graduate of Fritchon High School class of 1956, she completed her associate’s degree in nursing from Vincennes University in 1958. Upon graduation, she began her nursing career at Good Samaritan in Vincennes. She retired as director of nurse recruitment from Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, Florida, and began a new career at Walt Disney World in Orlando. She was a Disney cast member at the time of her death.

Rosie and her son, Jon, were devotees of all things Disney, and in addition to an extensive collection of memorabilia, they traveled to Disney parks in Paris as well as Disneyland in California. She loved having family members visit so she could serve as their Disney World guide. It delighted her to no end to meet someone from Indiana while working at Disney, and the very best was to meet someone from Vincennes and Knox County.

Rosie is survived by her son, Jon D. Robold of Winter Garden, Florida; a sister, Jeannie Pendleton of Windsor, California; and brothers, Chuck Roche and his wife, Jackie, of Vincennes, David Roche of Weatherford, Texas, and Mark Roche and his wife Stephanie of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and numerous nieces and nephews upon whom she doted.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Lori Jayne Robold.
