Brent R. Black, 42, of Vincennes, passed away at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, 2020, at Good Samaritan Hospital with his family at his side.
He was born Nov. 27, 1977 ,in Vincennes.
Brent had worked at Vincennes University, UTEC, and was a coal miner. A member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church, he loved cars, trucks, and motorcycles, and was an avid colts fan.
Surviving are his mother and father, Marvin and Gaye McCarter of Vincennes; his children, Kelby Black and Meredith Black of Vincennes; a sister, Brandy Ellerman and her husband, Mark, of Petersburg; a grandchild, Mavis Black; a nephew and two nieces, Brennen, Brelynn, and Nevaeh.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Howard Groves and Donald and Georgia Hedge; his paternal grandparents, Dink and Shirly McCarter; along with a nephew, Nathaniel Jacob McCarter Myers.
Private family services will be held with Bryce Anderson officiating.
