ELDORADO, Illinois — Robert Wayne Street Sr., 79, died peacefully at his residence in Hubert, North Carolina, on Feb. 28, 2023.

He was born in Vincennes, Indiana, on Nov. 29, 1943.

Robert was on the softball team and played for Vincennes #2 School. He was also on the basketball and football teams and played for Lincoln High School located in Vincennes, Indiana. He also participated in the Boy Scouts of America Club. He worked hard and achieved Eagle Scout status.

Robert delivered newspapers at an early age for the Vincennes Sun Commercial, winning many trips and prizes for being top seller. He worked for Vincennes Steel during his late teens and early twenties.

Robert started, owned, and operated his own business, Street’s Tree Trimming & Removal, for over 40 years. He was a tree contractor for the states of Indiana and Illinois for 15+ years.

Robert was a member of The Gospel Assembly Church for 42 years. He was a youth leader, Sunday School teacher, usher and vacation Bible school director.

Robert is survived by his children, Karla J. Ackerman (Roger), Robert Street, Jr. (Ruth), Diana J. Shults (Philip), Rebecca A Tucker (James), and Amy S. Rhudy (Leland); nine grandchildren, Sabrina Burch, Hiliary Montooth, Michael Shults, Daniel Shults, Justin Orten, Jonathan Street, Nathan Rhudy, Ashley Mitchell, Molly Borum; 17 great grandchildren; siblings, Chuck Street (Ellen), Randy Street (Darby), Brenda Neighbors (Dale), Vivian Sue Edgington (Rick) and Patricia Cox (Roger).

Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Carol Sue Street (Russell); parents, Charles R. Street and Etta Marie Street (Witsman); and his twin brother, Richard Street.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. CST on March 11 at Watsons Funeral Home in Eldorado. The visitation will be from noon CST until the time of service.

Rev. Dewayne Jolly will officiate.

Following the service, Robert will be cremated and taken back to his home in Hubert, North Carolina.
