William A. Cox

William A. Cox, 66, of Vincennes, passed away at 10:58 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020 at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Bill was born on Oct. 22, 1953 in Vincennes, the son of William E. and Louise R. (Vonderheid) Cox. He worked as a night clerk for Vincennes University at one of the residence halls. Bill was an avid reader and had been a walker and bicyclist.

Survivors include his sister, Janice A. Anderson of Vincennes; his sister-in-law, Terry Cox of Russellville, Illinois; and a nephew, Jason, of Tennessee.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Thomas E. Cox.

It was Bill’s desire to be cremated and there will be no public services. Bill will be laid to rest in MountCalvary Catholic Cemetery. Goodwin Funeral Home is honored to assist the Cox family with arrangements.

Eldon R. Dellinger, 88, of Vincennes, passed away at 6:10 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2020 at BridgePointe Health Care Campus.

He was born April 5, 1931 in Knox County to Chester and Helen (Ice) Dellinger. Eldon enjoyed working on the family farm most of his life. He enjoyed being with family, and his favorite pastime was predicting the weather. He was a member of Hamline Chapel United Methodist Church and later in life attended Community United Methodist Church.

Surviving are a sister, Mary Pahmeier of Marion; a brother, Dale Dellinger and his wife, Letha Jane, of Vincennes; a brother-in-law, Joe Farris of Vincennes; his nieces and nephews, Jim Farris and his wife, Karen, Julia Isom, Becky McDowell and her husband, Shawn, Ed Farris, Jennifer Harker and her husband, Troy, Jana Millikan and her husband, Glen, Greg Dellinger and his wife, Michelle, and Marcy Hays and her husband, Frank; and several great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Edith Farris; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Pahmeier; and a nephew, Wilbur Isom.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Community United Methodist Church, 1548 S. Hart Street Road, with Rev. Ray Tromley officiating. Burial will be in the Hamline Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until the hour of services on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the choice of the donor.
