PETERSBURG — Guy Ervin Cockerham, 80, of Fort Branch, formerly of Petersburg, passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2021, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Evansville with his family by his side.
He was born on June 27, 1940, in Knox County to Louie Ervin and Ella Mae (Leffler) Cockerham.
He attended school at Monroe City and Petersburg High School class of 1958. He retired from Potter and Brumfield/Siemens in Princeton after 38 years.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie (Lange) Cockerham of Fort Branch, whom he married on July 30, 1993. Also surviving are his children and their spouses, Rick and Melody Cockerham of Washington, Suzie and David Sorgius of Otwell, Teresa and John Walters, and Sheli and Everett Dillon of Petersburg, Greg and Leah Davis, and Stacy Davis of Haubstadt; 14 grandkids; numerous great-grandkids; brother, Ray Dell Cockerham of Dublin, Ohio; an aunt, Betty Barnett of Petersburg; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louie and Ella Mae Cockerham; sister and brother-in-law, Geraldine “Deanie” and Harry Lee; brother, Bobby Dale Cockerham; Ronnie Drew; and an infant sister at birth.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday at O.D. Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg with burial following at Walnut Hills Cemetery. Pastor Lowell Thomas will officiate.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time on Friday at the funeral home.
