This letter is written to address two subjects on my mind.
First, articles have been written in which the Indiana Business College was referred to as a women's business college. This college, with a branch in Vincennes, was co-educational. I graduated from there, as did several members of my family, from my mother, wife and daughter. I completed business courses there in 1959 and got an excellent education. The big plus was you got what you needed without spending extra for a lot you didn't need. It was money well spent. I believe the the college is now New Harrison College in Terre Haute — the Vincennes college closed. They were located at Fifth and Main streets. We graduated from there. They later moved to 15th and Willow streets, but closed a short time later.
Second, regarding the Edwardsport school. This is too nice of a building to be demolished. I think a charter school might be the answer. Under similar circumstances, Dugger-Union school was saved by a charter school after the public school system was ready to close it.
