As we prepare to celebrate National Nurses’ Day (May 6) and Week (May 6-12), kudos to all area nurses who do so much every day, evening and night to ensure quality care of patients entrusted to them.

For many years, nursing has been considered at the top of the most trusted professions in the United States. That is not a surprise, as nurses are often challenged to wear many, many hats on any given day as they provide their patients with the best possible care, and as they often serve as a liaison between the patient and the many other healthcare professionals who interact with patients on any given day.

I have been blessed in my career to work with wonderful nurses who possess a true servant’s heart and passion for caring for people. Knox county is blessed to have many, many nurses who fit this description.

Thank you to all Knox County area nurses who do so much to provide a healthier community and tomorrow for our citizens. We are greatly indebted to each of you.
