BICKNELL — North Knox’s Carrie Loheider was a victor Thursday in her golf coaching debut, with Tori French’s medalist round of 46 leading the way in the Lady Warriors’ 203-223 victory over Sullivan at High Pointe.

Freshman Isabella May shot a 50 in her first high school match, Emma Miller had 53 and Sarah Richardson 54. Milee Lane and Hope Leydet carded rounds of 62 and 65.

Cara Gofourth paced Sullivan with a 51.

“I was pleased with our scores since this is the first match, and we haven’t had many practices,” Loheider said. “The kids had great attitudes, and I know they’ll continue to improve. I was happy for Tori to earn medalist honors in her first match as a senior.”

North Knox hosts South Knox and Clay City at 5 p.m. Monday.

Rivet golfers trip up Washington

WASHINGTON — Lily Waggoner was medalist with a 42, and Rivet’s girls golf team handled Washington, 191-225, Thursday at Country Oaks.

Other scorers for the Lady Patriots were Maddi Halter 48, Victoria Linn 50 and Emma Robinson 51. Cadence Mills shot 54 and Alicia McGuire 58.

“I was really happy with that score, and it was a good, tight pack. We hit a lot of good shots,” Rivet coach Charlie Waggoner said. “We still left some opportunities out there, but this was just their second match of the year too. It’s a young group, but a focused one. A 191 is a good score on the front nine, and playing here is going to help us Saturday at their invitational.”

The Patriots, Lincoln and South Knox are the county teams playing at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Washington Invitational.
