Lincoln's Torrence Gillis and Ethan Bushey were selected this week as members of the final all-Big Eight Conference boys basketball team.
Gillis was the Alices' leading scorer nearly all season before Bushey passed him in the final few weeks. The 6-3 junior Bushey averaged 19.8 over Lincoln's final six games, including a career-high 30 in an overtime sectional loss to Washington, and he finished as the area's fourth-leading scorer at 13.3 points per game. Gillis, a 6-0 senior, was sixth at 12.4.
Bushey also led the team with 6.5 rebounds and 40 percent 3-point shooting (17-of-43), and Gillis was best with 2.9 assists.
It's the first time since 2016 that Lincoln put more than one player on the 10-member, all-league squad.
Other selections for the all-conference squad are Jurrien Ballard, Dominic Hardiman, and Rhett Thompson, Princeton; Quentin Harmon and Jackson Kabrick, Jasper; Kiowa Jones and Grant Niehaus, Washington; and Hunter Bruce, Boonville.
Jasper went 4-1 to earn the final boys basketball championship in the Big Eight Conference, which folds this season after 40 years. The Wildcats were followed by Washington, Princeton and Boonville, which tied at 3-2, Lincoln 2-3 and Mount Vernon 0-5.
