PRINCETON — Lincoln’s boys tennis team posted four straight-set wins and upended Princeton, 4-1, in a Big Eight Conference boys tennis match Thursday.
Victories for the Alices (9-4, 2-0 Big Eight) were by No. 1 singles Ethan Jones over Lance Stuckey, 6-4, 6-2; No. 2 singles Dustin Altstadt over Garrett Scott, 6-2, 6-1; No. 1 doubles Kyle Stenger-Landon Altstadt over Collin Holzmeyer-Hunter McCandless, 6-1, 7-5; and No. 2 doubles Simon Corrona-David Wilson over Kyler Kidd-Cade Hurt, 6-4, 6-2.
The Tigers got a win from No. 3 singles Jevin Huey, who edged Calvin Carmean, 7-5, 7-6 (10-8).
“It was a good conference win and all-around performance,” Lincoln coach Bryce Crane said. “Ethan and Dustin did a great job setting the tone in the singles matches. The doubles teams are getting more developed with each match, particularly one doubles. Kyle and Landon have become a duo we can rely on for a win in most matches.
“We are happy to finish this week unbeaten.”
Hunter Lemon collected a pair of junior varsity wins, 8-3 and 8-4.
The Alices play at Loogootee at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
