UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. — The Vincennes University women's basketball team canned 13 three-pointers to out-gun Delta, 82-57, Wednesday.
Kennadi Harris, who was 4-of-6 from behind the arc, scored a career-high 19 points for the second game in a row for the Trailblazers (10-6). Cherrelle Newsom drained five 3-pointers and added 18 points. Daylynn Thornton and Chanice Willis also tallied in double figures with 15 and 13 points. Willis, a reserve, scored 12 in the second half. Thornton topped the team with five assists and four steals.
Delta (6-8) built a 10-2 lead before VU rallied to forge a 19-19 tie after one quarter. The Blazers continued the momentum with a 22-9 advantage in the second quarter to claim a 41-28 halftime lead. They pushed the margin to 64-47 after three quarters.
VU outscored the hosts 39-6 from the 3-point line.
The game ended the first half of the Blazers' schedule. They host No. 21 Moberly Area (Mo.) at 3 p.m. Jan. 7.
