BICKNELL — North Knox made Cole Jones’ late first-half goal stand up, and the Warriors snagged a 1-0 boys soccer victory over Owen Valley on Thursday.

Rivet gets tie with West Vigo
Rivet had multiple scoring chances in each half but failed to capitalize and settled for a 0-0 tie with visiting West Vigo at St. Vincent’s Field on Thursday.
Aaron Wyatt had seven saves in goal for the Patriots (1-4-1).
“It was pretty much a tale of two halves, but for once we dominated the first half,” Rivet coach Thierry Schleiss said. “Cedric Schleiss distributed really well, and we had a few chances for Ryan (Nguyen) and Charlie (Niehaus), but we couldn’t find the back of the net. Just before halftime, Charlie made a nice cross to an open Dylan Daugherty, but he couldn’t put it in.
“In the second half, we stopped passing so well, and West Vigo pretty much controlled most of the play. We still managed to get a couple chances by Dylan and Cedric.”
The Patriots visit Sullivan at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Lady Warriors falter at Princeton
PRINCETON — North Knox failed to find the net, and Princeton dealt the Warriors a 2-0 girls soccer defeat on Thursday.
Riley Petro made 14 saves in goal for North Knox (0-5).
“This was a very physical game, and I am so proud of the girls for keeping their composure,” Lady Warriors coach Kelsey Houchin said. “We are improving every game. Things are starting to click as far as formations and positions. If we continue to improve and move forward, we will become a threat.”
North Knox travels to Owen Valley at 5:30 p.m. next Tuesday.
