NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. — Adam Schenk extended his streak of rounds under par over the weekend, and he finished in a tie for 15th place in the PGA's Barbasol Championship at Keene Trace G.C.
Schenk was 17-under for the tournament with rounds of 66, 69, 67, and 69. He's now shot nine consecutive rounds under par and 13 in a row of carding par or better. Schenk had his best PGA Tour finish a week prior, tying for fourth place in the John Deere Classic.
Seamus Power won the Barbasol Championship, downing J.T. Poston after six playoff holes to break their tie at 21-under par.
Entering Saturday, Schenk was tied for 10th place, and his third round was nearly flawless. He managed birdies at the par-4 first and par-5 fifth, combining those with seven pars to be 2-under at the turn. His second nine began with birdies at the par-4 10th and par-5 11th, and he pushed his round to 6-under with birdies at the par-5 15th and par-5 17th. His only hole over par was the last, the par-4 18th, which he bogeyed for a 5-under par round.
Sunday's round was very similar. His two birdies on the front nine came at the fifth and par-3 ninth. He also duplicated his birdies at the 11th and 15th, and he again bogeyed the 18th for a final round of 3-under.
Schenk maintained his 109th place spot the FedExCup Standings. He earned $58,625 for his finish in the tournament, bringing his season total to $865,523.
The next PGA event is the 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minn.
