NOBLESVILLE — Luke Lindsey recorded a 5-over-par 75 to grab fifth place among 19 participants in the Boys 11-12 division in the Indiana Junior Golf tournament at Forest Park G.C. on Thursday.
William Harvey of Westfield managed a 72 to win the tournament. Nils Erkmanis of McCordsville led all golfers in the tournament with five birdies, tying for third place, one stroke better than Lindsey. Lindsey and Harvey tied for the second-most birdies with three.
Lindsey, a rising seventh grader at Clark, had three pars and two birdies on the front nine, but was set back by a double-bogey on the par-3 ninth to get to the turn at 3-over. He managed four pars on the back nine before finishing with a birdie on the par-4 17th and a bogey on the par-3 18th.

VU volleyball brings in transfer Duarte
Vincennes University has added Monroe (N.Y.) transfer Jaddy Duarte to its volleyball team.
The 6-1 middle blocker started 17 matches last season for Monroe, which qualified for the NJCAA Division I national tournament for the third consecutive year. She averaged .5 blocks per set.
"She played 28 out of 30 matches. It's almost like having another returning player," Trailblazers coach Gary Sien said. "Jaddy is an explosive-type player, and we're always looking for athletic, explosive hitters because we like to run our middle attack.
"We don't lose many hitters and having someone like her as well as our other incoming hitters, we're going to be deep there."
Duarte plans to major in business administration.
