Lincoln junior Karlie Myers and freshman Dani Kroeger were among 13 players selected to the all-Big Eight Conference softball squad on Tuesday.

Myers pitched over 90 percent of the Alices' innings this season while helping them to a 16-10 record, and she was one of the team's best hitters as well. Kroeger caught nearly every inning for Lincoln as a freshman and also excelled with the bat.

Myers batted .389 with a pair of doubles and four RBIs in six conference games. She struck out 47 with a 1.70 earned run average while pitching all 37 innings. Kroeger was on the receiving end of every pitch, batting .333 with a home run and three RBIs.

Joining them on the Big Eight squad are Brooklyn Gibbs, Megan Ghrist and Jaycie Tucker, Mount Vernon; Ariel Thomasson, Randi Jo Pryor, Faith Wittman and Audra Purdy, Boonville; Grace Colvin and Mia Werner, Jasper; Kami Pearson, Mount Carmel; and Jessie Goforth, Princeton.

Mount Vernon, Boonville and Jasper shared the Big Eight title with 5-1 marks, and Lincoln was fourth at 3-3. They were followed by Mount Carmel 2-4, Princeton 1-5, and Washington 0-6.
