Volleyball roundup: Spartans survive Warriors in 5 sets

South Knox's Bren Hill spikes a kill attempt against North Knox's Shelby Shaw on Thursday at the Spartans' gym.

South Knox's Addy DeLisle came up just short in matching North Knox's Alex McKinley's quadruple-double in their Blue Chip Conference volleyball match on Thursday, but it was the host Spartans who survived in the final set to top the Warriors, 25-13, 21-25, 25-20, 23-25, 15-11.

DeLisle only had a double-double of 31 digs and 22 assists, but she also had nine kills and eight points. She also had three aces for the Spartans (11-9, 2-4 Blue Chip), who won their second five-set conference match in three days. McKinley led the Warriors (9-11, 1-4) in almost every category with 15 kills, 29 assists and 14 points, though she tied for second with 15 digs, and she also chipped in three aces.
