SULLIVAN — Parker Mullins led the way with a ninth-place finish, and Lincoln’s top five runners were all in the top 20 to push the cross country Alices to a second-place finish in the Sullivan Invitational on Thursday.
On the girls side, North Knox’s Brittany Page was seventh, and the Warriors took fourth. Lincoln’s girls and North Knox’s boys placed eighth.
Northview ran away with the boys meet, placing five of the top six for 19 points. Lincoln tallied 70 and was followed by Sullivan 82, West Vigo 110, Owen Valley 116, North Daviess 167, Paris (Ill.) 182, North Knox 185, North Central 221 and Hutsonville-Palestine (Ill.) 248.
Mullins earned his ninth for Lincoln in 18:50. Trevor Robbins was 10th in 18:58; Keenan Clegg 12th, 19:23; Nate Harris 19th 19:53; and Blake Meade 20th, 20:09.
For North Knox’s boys, Cavan Lemberg was 28th, 21:34; Dakota Lawrence 37th, 23:12; Steven Calvert 38th, 23:20; Dayton Poe 39th, 23:21; and Anden West 43rd, 23:28.
Northview was an easy winner in the girls race too. The Knights scored 20, Owen Valley 77, North Daviess 97, North Knox 113, Paris 127, Sullivan 163, West Vigo 164, Lincoln 173 and North Central 231.
Page was seventh for the Lady Warriors in 23:13. She was followed by Reegan Hammelman ninth, 23:42; Macy Dye 23rd, 26:13; Ava Williams 35th, 28:30; and Brianna Page 39th, 32:37.
Sierra Mullins was 19th for the Lady Alices in 25:38; Alexus Arvin 26th, 26:48; Sierra Rasico 31st, 27:42; Jayda Hovland 45th, 34:10; and MacKenzie Taylor 52nd, 46:09.
“This was a good meet because, other than North Knox, these are teams we won’t see the rest of the season,” Lincoln coach Ralph Connor said. “Sierra ran well. We had a couple girls complain that they didn’t feel well, and they ran like it.”
Lincoln competes in the Evansville Harrison Invitational at Angel Mounds Saturday at 10 a.m., while North Knox runs at Pike Central at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
