BOONVILLE — Garrett Fuller and Grayson Conrad went unbeaten for North Knox, as the Warriors opened their wrestling season going 1-2 at the Pioneer Duals on Saturday.
North Knox lost its duals to host Boonville and Evansville Harrison by identical 60-18 scores, but the Warriors rebounded to down Washington, 40-18.
Fuller, 160 pounds, was 3-0 with three pins, and Conrad, 182, was 3-0 with two pins. Ethan Sandifer, 170, went 2-1 with two pins; Donald Warbler, 152, was 2-1 with a pin; and Madison Dolkey, 120, and Zach Mulvey, 138, each went 1-2.
“We're proud of our wrestlers. They worked hard and wanted to win,” North Knox coach Tim Kirk said. “Garrett and Grayson won Outstanding Wrestler for their weight classes. We are small and young this year, but I would rather be few in number with a team as hard-working with amazing attitudes as these kids have, than have a large team that complains.”
The Warriors compete in the Lincoln Invitational next Saturday.
