Four from Knox County were among 14 selected to the all-Blue Chip Conference softball squad this week.
North Knox put three on the all-conference team, senior Katie Kixmiller, junior Cayman Strain and sophomore Phoebe Worstell. Representing South Knox on the team is junior Kyndall Elliott.
Kixmiller, Strain and Worstell were the best three hitters for the Warriors, while Strain and Worstell shared the pitching duties. Elliott caught nearly every inning for the Spartans while anchoring the offense.
South Knox sophomore Jianna Hughes, a pitcher and first baseman, was an honorable mention pick.
All-Conference pitchers were Barr-Reeve's Hannah Graber and Loogootee's Sydney Davis. Other selections were Asia Crim, Tyanna Graber and Adie Nolley, Loogootee; Rebecca Brosmer, Brooklyn Dodd and Hadley Fuhrman, Northeast Dubois; Melissa Wagler, Barr-Reeve; and Gretchen Reel, Wood Memorial.
Other honorable mention selections were Jenna Harrison and Tracy Stoll, Barr-Reeve; Haley Fischer and Kaley Roush, Shoals; Bailee Speicher and Khloye Strickland, Wood Memorial; Callie Wininger, Loogootee; and Camryn Stemle, Northeast Dubois.
Loogootee was the league champion and 6-0 and was followed by Barr-Reeve 5-1, Northeast Dubois 4-2, North Knox 3-3, Wood Memorial 2-4, South Knox 1-5 and Shoals 0-6.
