Lincoln's Gracie Kramer and North Knox's Reegan Hammelman were selected recently to participate in the Hoosier Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Classic.
Those weren't the only honors received by the county from the HBCA, as North Knox coach Steve Meurer was named the District 1 Coach of the Year.
The HBCA All-Star Classic is at North Daviess on April 16, and is exclusively an honor for seniors. No area boys were selected for the all-star game, but could be invited later if any initial invitees are unable to participate.
Kramer averaged 9.1 points for the Alices this season, while Hammelman scored 5.1 for the Warriors, but both made the biggest impact to their teams with defense and leadership.
Meurer guided North Knox to a 28-2 record, the best mark in school history, and the school's seventh regional title, the first since 2014.

Schenk struggles early at Players
PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. — Adam Schenk has work to do in order to make today's cut in the The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass.
The Vincennes golfer shook off a rocky front nine to go bogey-free through much of the back nine, but a bogey at No. 18 concluded Schenk's opening round at 2-over-par 74 and in a tie for 95th place.
The top 65 plus ties make the cut, which would have been at even par Thursday.

Chad Ramey has the lead at 8-under when play was suspended due to darkness, and a little over 80% of the participants had concluded their rounds. Collin Morikawa is a stroke back at 7-under, and three are tied for third at 5-under.
Schenk was 1-under early in the tournament, sinking a birdie putt on the par-5 second hole. Bogeys at the par-4 fourth and sixth followed, and a third bogey at the par-5 ninth had Schenk 2-over at the turn. Schenk notched a birdie at the par-5 11th before collecting six straight pars. The bogey at the par-4 18th made Schenk's work today much harder.
Schenk has made the cut in six consecutive tournaments and 11 out of 15 in the 2022-23 season.
Schenk is in the third group to tee off today from No. 10 at 7:12 a.m., along with his playing group Beau Hossler and Stephan Jaeger.
VU golf 5th at Spring Fling
SCOTTSBORO, Ala. — Vincennes University's Paxton Schwomeyer placed seventh, and the Trailblazers took fifth among eight teams in the 54-hole Goosepond Spring Fling this week.
Teams played 36 holes on Monday and concluded the tournament with a third round Tuesday.
Schwomeyer opened with a 4-over-par 76, and bettered his first-day positioning with a second-round 2-over 73. He concluded the tournament with a 5-over 77 in the final round to finish at 10-over-par 226.
“Paxton had two really good rounds for the first time playing after missing most of the fall with a hand injury,” VU coach Dennis Chattin said. “We got off to a slow start. We bounded back in the second round, with only the two D1 schools shooting lower scores.”
John A. Logan (Ill.) won with a total of 885 and was followed by Calhoun (Ala.) 892, Rend Lake (Ill.) 927, Mineral Area (Mo.) 929, VU 952, Lincoln Trail (Ill.) 953, Northeast Alabama 986, and Northeast Alabama B-team 1,064.
John A. Logan's Lucas Lasley won the tournament at 4-under, and Calhoun's Jace Calvert was the only other golfer under par with a 1-under. Northeast Alabama's Lane Ingram led after each of the first two rounds with a 69 and 71, but he settled for third as his third-round 77 pushed him to 1-over.
Other individuals for VU were Aaron Brink in 15th, 82-74-76, 232; Adam Leach 22nd, 78-76-73, 237; Nate Olson 29th, 80-82-79, 241; Luke VanDeventer 37th, 85-81-87, 253; and Sam Stewart 41st, 89-83-90, 262.
“Aaron came back in the second round, Adam was playing as an individual but had his low round in back-to-back rounds. Preston Broce has a shoulder injury, and we could have used his help the first two rounds,” Chattin said.
The Trailblazers are in the Lincoln Trail Invitational at 12:30 p.m. next Thursday at Quail Creek in Robinson, Ill.
